BUFFERED ALUM PHOSPHATE CONTROL

called Baraclear
Alum is widely recognized as a great way to reduce phosphates and create
clear water. Alum is aluminum sulfate, when the aluminum ions bond with
the phosphate molecules they become insoluble in the water, no longer available
as a nutrient. The aluminum ions also attract dirt particles which, when
drawn together, become heavy and settle to the bottom resulting in sparkling
clear water! Typical applications are every four to six weeks after
initial start up. The pH of the water must be below 8.2 before treating
with Phosclear! At high pH levels this product can be toxic to fish.
Typical application rates are 1/4 pound per 1,000 gallons of water in small
